About Me
- Technology Tools for Teachers
- I began my career as a teacher and then moved into administration. Although I have enjoyed every job I have experienced, my true passion has always been teaching. My mission in life has been to help others select a career path that will provide them with a better standard of living for themselves and their families.
I plan to use blogs as a platform for discussion among my students. I want them to discuss issues that impact them--program issues, community issues, national issues, world issues.
ReplyDeleteI also plan to use blogs as a means of self-expression for my students. I will encourage them to express themselves in words, video, photos, in any way they choose.
Although I don't have a formal classroom, I can still use blogs to connect with the students I tutor. Two examples are: 1) to share resources with the students, especially math, where they could get help outside of their classroom or tutor time; 2) to be able to answer questions from students about particular math problems that are challenging for them.
ReplyDeleteHere's the blog I have created to interact with my students http://gedmathhelp.blogspot.com/
As I learn more about what type of help students need, I can see how that would provide valuable input for me to create my own resources for students to use.
I plan to use my new technology tools to try to help make using, and submitting the electronic files easier; and to introduce them to new tools that might be beneficial to them in the workplace.
ReplyDeleteSince i don't work in a classroom, blogs help me to network and market my business. I let people know what my business is all about. I can give some computer advise. Post important information for teachers and other people who need help on computers and information about computers.

1. Using blog as a format for communication, students to students and to their instructors.
ReplyDelete2. You can post examples of reading, writing, and math assignments for students to practice at home. This will provide more practice for students.
3. Introducing and developing computer skills for students who are not familar with computers.
Many of my students are either working or have young children. Therefore, there are times that they are not able to attend the class regularly. I created the blog and post some assignment for these students. They can access the blog from home, and participate virtually with the class activity.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to post my every day teaching lessons and activities on blog for all students to be able to access the daily activity from the comfort of their own home
I will use blogs to market my services and provide tips and resources for my accent reduction training clients. This will help them accelerate their success learning American English pronunciation and polish high level grammar, as needed.
ReplyDeleteI plan to use my blog to post video lessons in the event that a student was absent and missed the lesson or perhaps they need remediation. If there is a video available they can watch it over and over, as many times as necessay until the;y; master the concept. I also plan to put lesson assignments on my blog. Lastly, I think a blog would be very beneficial as a resource for teachers' professional development and for staff meetings.
